Big Bar Why? The Alcove got loaded. Not everyone in the neighborhood is rejoicing over precious Alcove space being dedicated to libations prepared with love, as it says on its site. Frankly, we’ve never been huge fans of the Alcove -– overpriced, underwhelming food –- but that’s us. It’s all about the spacious, smoke-free outdoor patio that now can be enjoyed with a Los Angeles Cocktail or Applejack Old Fashioned, among other specialties. M Grill Why? Skewers make your world go round. Despite the repulsing elevator music on its website, trust that this second-floor Brazilian churrascaria has a quaint vibe and great selection of meat skewers (beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage) served rodizio style sure to make your mouth water.
